Priory Press was founded by Ernest McConville in 1976.
Ernest was fed up waiting for local printers to print things for him, and as the saying goes – if you want something done you have to do it yourself.
He started off in commercial printing by producing leaflets for local businesses.
Soon enough, Ernest had built good rapport with his growing customers, and it was time to move on from the rusty old Rotaprint he started off with.
Mark McConville, Ernest’s son, joined the company in 1984.
He introduced some big fancy printing machines that increased Priory’s production capabilities.
Unfortunately, commercial printing was becoming an increasingly overcrowded market.
It was time to innovate, Mark noticed a gap in the market for printed food packaging.
It began with printing labels for a start-up, but Mark quickly noticed this wasn’t going to be sustainable for Priory or the start-up –
and carton board was much more versatile.
So then we became Priory Press Packaging – we design, print and produce packaging for a range of markets & multiples.
We’re continually innovating our processes to provide the best packaging in the UK, but one thing that never changes is our personal approach to customer service.
We’re a family owned business, so it’s no surprise we apply family values to how we treat our customers.
Some of our customers have been with us from the start, and some have joined us along the way, but whatever way they came to us we’re proud to say that they’ve stayed.
