We’re Certain You’ll Love Our Certifications
Priory Press Packaging has proudly secured its FSC® and PEFC certifications and has maintained its BRCGS High Hygiene AA grade!
We believe packaging doesn’t have to cost the earth. We are proud of our strong environmental sustainability ethos which is reflected in our certifications. We are committed to protecting the environment through sustainably managed resources and this is reflected in many other aspects of our business.
We’re continually seeking to evolve with the ever-changing demands of sustainable packaging. That’s why it was important to secure one of the highest grades of BRCGS High Hygiene (AA) in 2018 and to secure FSC® and PEFC certifications in 2019. After a few busy weeks of audits, we are thrilled to maintain our BRCGS High Hygiene AA grade. Our BRCGS certification allows us to print packaging which is suitable for direct food contact. It’s a global food product safety standard and legislative requirement – here is their website if you want to find out more.
Both FSC® and PEFC certifications allow our customers to show corporate responsibility for their packaging to the consumer. Thankfully, an increasing number of new enquiries we receive, have their hearts and ethos set on Eco-packaging. Mark McConville, Managing Director said “The team at Priory Press Packaging are delighted to have achieved certification for both FSC® and PEFC. This will enable our customers to demonstrate corporate responsibility for the origins of the materials used in their packaging by the use of either on-product FSC® or PEFC logo – increasingly recognised by consumers who are becoming more aware of packaging issues globally. These standards are the last link in the traceability chain that ensure and certify that the forested material used in the card has been sourced from renewable resources, has had no adverse impact in the flora & fauna or environment in that location and has not been obtained as a result of illegal logging or forest clearing for plantation purposes, and also ensures a fair recompense for the labour involved. We see these standards as an important part of our company objectives on sustainability, which include the exclusive use of renewable power in the factory, full waste recycling, chemical free processes and the use of hybrid electric vehicles.”
We have worked hard to develop our environmental responsibilities and sustainability. The inks we use are vegetable-based and our printing plates are photo-sensitive aluminium and are recycled after each print run. We deliver used wooden pallets to a local recycling centre where they are converted to wood chip, have a Cycle to Work Scheme and recycle all used uniforms! It’s vital that we produce premium packaging without the worry of recycling repercussions. All of our carton board is biodegradable, recyclable and compostable.
